simply wonderful...

~i scream...for ice cream

summer in our household is marked by dinner followed by dessert.

dessert meaning ice cream cones. and kroger has a wonderful sale on edy's brand.

and i'm a sucker for their yogurts.



simple = absolutely wonderful.



tonight's dessert - cake cones topped with edy's mint chocolate chip yogurt sprinkled with primary colored mini-race cars... hand-picked by Master D at Freeman's Farm Market on our last Mommy and Me trip. (sidenote: he appreciates food the way I do...what a blessing!)



Mid-lick Master D looks up and says, as Darius Rucker's newest song hums in the background,



"mom - i...love...this...ice...cream...so...much..."



it was sincere and heart-felt and beautiful.



he's such an appreciative child. he's so kind and sweet and, amazing.



and Darius' sweet voice, mellow and colorful, fills our kitchen ...

and he's right.



... and the tears well up in my eyes...and i look around and realize that i'm truly so lucky...no matter what. the moments around the kitchen table - all sunkissed and bellies full, giggling and humming along to our dinner music...they won't be like this for long...
